These checkpoints come from the GPX file. Enabled rows are shown on the sticker and exported as POI GPX files.

Add checkpoints by latitude and longitude, or by a kilometer value along the route. Pasting a coordinate pair into Latitude will split it. Checkpoint codes are counted automatically unless you overwrite them.

Prominent peaks are detected automatically from the elevation profile. They are visual labels only and are disabled by default.

Controls checkpoint label spacing and text sizes next to the profile. Codes are auto-counted as CP01, CP02, and so on until a code is manually overwritten. Emoji can be used, but final rendering depends on the selected font and target device.

Peak labels are drawn inside the elevation graph with a background for readability. Detected peaks are disabled until you enable them.

Minimum climb is the required rise from the lower nearby valleys to count as a peak. Peak spacing is the route-kilometer window used to score peaks and the minimum distance kept between automatic peaks.

Using POI GPX files on bike computers

RouteTag exports each enabled checkpoint as a GPX waypoint file. Many GPS devices treat these as saved locations, favorites, or POIs that can appear on the map.

Garmin Edge devices commonly import GPX files by copying them to Garmin/NewFiles over USB, then safely disconnecting the device so it can process the files.

Wahoo ELEMNT devices usually import GPX route files through the Wahoo app and sync them to the computer. Standalone waypoint or POI GPX behavior can differ from Garmin workflows.

Hammerhead/Karoo can show POIs from supported synced route services, but POIs from GPX imports may not appear. Check your device manual or vendor app workflow before relying on exported POIs during a ride.
